STORY OF
NOAH's ARK
Dr. Muneer Moosa
Noah was the tenth and the last of the pre-flood fathers. He was a good and righteous man. He obeyed the LORD and loved him. Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. In that ancient time th e earth was filled with wickedness. The LORD decided to punish humankind. Noah was instructed by God to make a big ark of cypress wood and fill it with two of every sort of living thing. Noah was five hundred years old. He worked very hard; one hundred years on building the ark! God gave his command because flood will submerge the world. Noah entered the ark with his family. They were eight persons. The door was locked. The rain had been falling for forty days and nights. God ordered the rain to stop. Noah was pleased and very happy. He opened a window in the ark and sent out a raven, but it did not return. After that, Noah sent out a white dove. The dove did not find where to put its slim strong orange-red legs. After seven days, Noah sent the dove again. The dove returned with a small sparkling green olive branch in its small orange fine beak! The ark settled on the mountains of Ararat of Armenia. God said to Noah:"Leave the ark with your family and open the door for all the animals, birds and every creeping thing". A magnificent rainbow made a half circle in between the black-white clouds in the magical sky! That was a sign that because His mercy, God will not flood the earth once again! Noah lived three hundred and fifty years after the flood. All the years of Noah, God most beloved, were nine hundred and fifty years!
